Saturday, December 2nd, 2017

“Give a hand to those who may give you a hand in the backcountry.”

This Saturday, December 2, 2017, join Bootdoctors & the San Miguel community in helping to support the San Miguel County Search & Rescue (SAR) at the 2nd Annual Backcountry Awareness and Fundraiser Event at High Pipe Pizzeria & Tap Room.

Starting at 6 pm, enjoy beers on tap more than ever, knowing that $1 of each beer will be donated to SAR by High Pie, as well as 20% of all food proceeds. 7 pm kicks off with a short presentation about SAR, followed by drawing of huge prizes, including a Dakine ABS pack & GoPro from Bootdoctors, AVI 1 class from Mountain Trip & pair of 2018 skis from Faction. Each event ticket is a chance to win.

Following the drawing check out the Telluride Premiere of “This Is Home” by the Faction Collective, plus CAIC’s “Know Before You Go.” Mountain Film will present several films, including Ice Fall, Into Twin Galaxies and GoPro: Line of the Winter.

Background On Event:

Bryce Young, Group Sales Director for the Bootdoctors, was ruminating on the loss of several friends in backcountry accidents as well as the rescue of many others from life threatening situations over the years, when he realized how much we all depend on the mostly volunteer efforts of our San Miguel County Search and Rescue crew. He and Kelli Gleason of the Bootdoctors were discussing how to increase folks’ preparedness for backcountry adventures. Together they were inspired to come up with the idea for a fundraiser for SAR.
