Part of the alignment analysis process

Stance alignment

Oh the foot bone's connected to the shin bone, the shin bone's connected to the knee bone...

Have you ever struggled - seeming to work for years with lessons and practice but never quite mastering those so called easy turns?  Maybe you can't seem to start a turn without a great deal of effort or maybe you never get enough edge to carve your turns instead of skidding them even with a good equipment tune up.  Or maybe you just don't feel as balanced on one foot compared to the other or turning in one direction is much better than the other.

There might not be anything wrong with your technique or equipment.  It could be the way your leg and foot bones line up and how they affect your natural balance point under your feet.  Even a slight shift of a few millimeters inside or outside of dead center can have a profound affect on our balancing and edging movements which are so crucial to good skiing.  It can make the difference between good and great skiing.  Knowledgeable ski instructors are trained to spot alignment issues while observing your skiing movements and may suggest you consider alignment analysis.  This skeletal alignment can be precisely measured in our shops.  The good news is that if misalignment is discovered you won't even need surgery to fix it.  These misalignments can be corrected by some minor equipment modifications.  The best news is considerably improved skiing!
