The Bootdoctors Story
The BootDoctors is an award-winning family owned and operated small outdoor retailer originally founded in 1986 in Taos Ski Valley, NM, by Bob Gleason, Bob Remiger, Linda Mogetz and Kyle Remiger in response to the growing demand for high quality bootfitting in the area.
Very quickly the store became a mecca for skiing enthusiasts, not only for the high level of technical skills, services and gear, but also for the attention to customer service that permeates every aspect of this classic ski town store. Soon customers came to know that they could depend on the BootDoctors for the best selection of outdoor clothing, accessories as well as crucial information to help them have the best possible experience in the outdoors.
The BootDoctors added an excellent ski demo fleet as well as top quality tuning services to the mix to make it a true “one-stop-shop” at the base of the Taos ski area.
From the beginning Bob Gleason and Bob Remiger have been recognized as industry leaders for their mastery of bootfitting, innovation, gear and techniques. Gleason has been an instructor for Ski Mechanics Workshops, then Curriculum Director for Master Fit University, the world’s foremost bootfitters’ training program. He also has been the Rocky Mountain Professional Ski Instructors Association (PSIA) stance alignment trainer since 1998.
Both Gleason and Remiger are boot and ski testers for SKI Magazine’s yearly reviews of all new gear. The BootDoctors has been awarded 7 gold medals from SKI Magazine readers as well as the acclaimed as the “Best of the Rockies” by Ski and “10 Best Bootfitters in North America” by Powder Magazine.
In 2011 BootDoctors was pleased to accept the vote of confidence from industry professionals in the form of the new “Best Backshop: BootFitting” award presented by skiingbusiness.com.
A new direction in Telluride
In 1997 Bob Gleason saw an opportunity to open a shop in the newly emerging Mountain Village at Telluride, CO ski resort. In the years that have followed, the shop has grown progressively to a fully stocked year-round outdoor retailer with winter retail, full rental and demo fleets, a top-of-the-line tune shop, 
vast selection of clothing, accessories and gear.
In 2010 Boot Doctors purchased a long standing locally owned sporting good shop Paragon Sports, allowing customers to have access to BootDoctors’ quality services and products at two new stores in Telluride. With the new Main Street Paragon store the BootDoctors now can truly claim to be the very best source of bicycles in the region, plus the widest offering for outdoor clothing, travel wear, and the widest offering for outdoor clothing, travel wear, and the area’s ONLY Nordic Demo center.
Summer Adventures in the Rockies
In summer the Mountain Village BootDoctors store transforms into an outdoor adventure outfitter with rafting, mountain bike tours and rentals and fly fishing. Bootfitting continues to top the list of skills as summer shoes, hiking boots, running shoes are all fit alongside of ski and snowboard boots.
Taking it Further
A thirty year veteran raft guide, Bob Gleason has applied his experience in guiding to develop and grow Telluride’s premier summer guide Service, Further Adventures offering a wide variety of outdoor adventures 
in the Telluride region. Daily tours are available for the novice to the expert. Our mountains abound with opportunities for mountain biking, fishing, hiking and river rafting.
Further Adventures offers undoubtedly the best private waters for year-round fishing delight. Anglers of all levels, from beginners to experts will find an adventure that challenges and rewards them with a memorable experience.
A new BootDoctors/Paragon store at the corner of Oak street and San Jaun brings the excellence of BootDoctors to the base of the Telluride Gondola. With a brand new bootfitting facility as well as full ski and snowboard rentals and demos skiers have only a short walk to excellence from the Gondola. Downstairs are slope side lockers. In summer this store has full bike rentals,
demos, retail, camping gear, travel wear, hiking gear and more.
In winter the Mountain Vilalge Ice Skate Shop has skate rentals, retail and admission to the beautifual outdoor rink. his is a great alternative activity for people of all ages. Open daily, the rink is available for groups, parties, and special events.
